Laser
periodontics

Certain wavelengths of laser are used in gingivitis and periodontitis to reduce the degree of inflammation and swelling, and not least in acute conditions.
Other wavelengths are used for surgical removal of granulation tissue and debridement, with immediate regeneration of healthy tissue.

Laser
endodontics

Laser can reduce the microbial growth in root canals and in the root dentin, and abrogate the acute phase in periradicular accesses.

Obliterated cavities and channels can be effectively opened up for endodontic treatment.

Laser
surgery

Here we find the most tangible advantages of lasers.

A selective surgical laser removal of inflamed tissue leaves an unaffected and healthy tissue that regenerates immediately.
Hyperplastic, hyperpigmented, mucotic tissue, as well as healthy tissue in need of extirpation, layering, excision or incision are other examples of successful forms of treatment with predictable results.
Herpes Simplex infections and hemangioma treatments as well.

Laser
prosthodontics

Some advantages include laser pre-prosthetic measures such as exposure of preparation borders, disinfection and increased retention before cementation, and soft tissue removal during stage 2 implant treatment, with immediate tissue regeneration.

Laser
pediatric dentistry

Treating children with lasers reduces the risk of injury, improves the prognosis, and is experienced more positively by the patient.

Laser
cariology

Metal fillings cannot be removed by laser, but enamel, dentin and composites work great.
And, the significant advantage is that no smear layer is left on the disinfected surface and that the pulp is unaffected.

Deep pulpal caries can be selectively removed, and fillings have a "seamless" transition.

Not least, the fact that many patients appreciate the laser light's micro-explosions in water molecules, where there is no mechanical contact, is sometimes decisive for patients afraid of dentistry.
